The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the death bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with compelling titles on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of horror and action."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that justify the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
