Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Currently Not on File

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.

Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
